The SOFIMA resumed in 1959 the activity started in Madrid in the 1890’s under the name of Madrid Philatelic Circle, soon becoming the benchmark for Spanish philately. It has implemented a comprehensive program of conferences and seminars, issued important publications and magazines, organized national and international exhibitions and contributed significantly to the development of Spanish philately and of its international relationships.
