Bad Segeberg is July’s Capital of Youth Philately
Latest Press Release from Deutsche Philatelisten-Jugend e. V.:
Cool drinks with a “future”
On July 13th and 14th, a triple will take place at the youth academy in Bad Segeberg: In addition to the JuPhilA (a regional youth exhibition), the foundation competition and the German team championships for young stamp lovers will be held. Bad Segeberg will be the capital of youth philately this weekend.
The theme of the weekend is “Future”. So it made sense to have the logo created with the help of “artificial intelligence”. The logo created in this way can also be found in the special stamp and the receipts.
At a “JiMs Bar” visitors can enjoy non-alcoholic cocktails – appropriate for the season. JiMs Bar is a non-profit project run by various youth organizations in Schleswig-Holstein, where young people mix and sell non-alcoholic cocktails.
A great supporting program is planned for all participants in the German Team Championships. On Saturday afternoon, DPhJ members can take part in a stamp auction. After dinner, we go to the Kalkbergstadion. “Winnetou II – Ribanna and Old Firehand” is on the program this year at the well-known Karl May Festival. The supporting program ends with a visit to the bat caves in Kalkberg on Sunday morning.
On Sunday (July 14th) at 1 p.m. the award ceremony will include the announcement of the successful exhibitors and the announcement of the German team champion 2024.
The German Team Championships are a team competition. A team consists of a supervisor and two young teammates. As many points as possible must be earned in various disciplines (creation of an exhibit, knowledge quiz and supervisor competition).
The foundation competition is an open stamp exhibition in which all children and young people can take part. Membership in the DPhJ or an exhibitor pass is not a requirement.
Detailed information and downloads for all parts of the event can be found on the homepage at https://juphila2024.de/.
