Best practices by the Swedish and Norwegian Federations
According to the Swedish Federation (Sveriges Filatelistförbund, SFF), on 16 January, a cooperation agreement was signed by the Swedish and Norwegian Federations which says the following:
The agreement means that both associations will use the same host for their websites. In the long run, this will give both associations cost advantages. In addition, SFF donates its website to the Norwegian Federation. This means that, in the future, together, we can offer new functionality, etc., at a lower cost. Shortly, the staff in the Norwegian Federation will be trained on how to manage the website.
Discussions are also ongoing about exchanging each other’s memberships, literature, etc. Many philatelists in each country also collect the other country. It is not entirely easy to become a member when, so far, the platforms have been different. Eventually, this kind of collaboration is planned to expand to other Nordic countries.
A month later, on 16 February, the Norwegian Federation (Norsk Filatelistforbund) announced:
The association is now launching a brand new platform for digital services, and the first service is the association’s web pages. This is done in collaboration with the Sveriges Filatelistförbund, and we hope this collaboration will make it easier to develop more digital services in the future.
