EGYPHILA 2026 Report and Results

Following national exhibitions in Alexandria in 2024 and Heliopolis in 2025, the Philatelic Society of Egypt, under its new President Hany Salam RDP, has revitalised philatelic events in Egypt by introducing new guidelines and procedures. EGYPHILA 2026, held from 16 to 19 September at Cairo’s Digital Innovation Centre ‘Creativa’, attracted exhibitors from twelve countries across North Africa, the Mediterranean and the Middle East, with additional collections from the USA.

The exhibition comprised 356 frames, 111 exhibits and 10 philatelic literature entries in ten classes. The Egyptian Post participated with a commemorative stamp marking the centenary of the country’s first airmail stamp. Three seminars covered Venetian communications with Egypt, Thematic exhibiting regulations, and Ottoman Jerusalem postal history. Delegates were also offered a visit to a traditional desert village before the exhibition opened.

The traditional awards dinner was held at the Diplomatic Club. The Grand Prix was awarded to Atef Sarian (United Kingdom) for Egypt 1866-1867, The First Issue.
