Since its foundation in 1949 the Soester Briefmarkenfreunde e.V. has been successfully promoting philately, being well integrated with the local schools and community as well as a very active member of the BDPh. It has organized a number of local and national events, launched partnerships with foreign societies, and devoted special initiatives to youth and philatelic literature.
