Peter Suhadolc elected President of the European Philatelic Academy (AEP)
At the Annual General Meeting of members of the European Philatelic Academy (Académie Européenne de Philatélie), which took place on Saturday, 27 May, in Essen, Germany, during the IBRA 2023 World Philatelic Exhibition, Peter Suhadolc was elected President. He succeeded Jean Voruz, under whose leadership he was responsible for preparing and publishing the Academy’s internal bulletin Trait d’Union. Jean Voruz presented him with the presidential tie upon his election.
Peter Suhadolc was accepted as a member of the academy in 2004 and, since then, has regularly attended the AEP meetings. Among the Academy’s activities is the annual publication of Opus magazine, for which he contributed an article about the Illyrian provinces some years ago.

BOSTON 2026 WORLD EXPO Update

The exhibition is scheduled between 23 and 30 May 2026 and will be hosted at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.
FIP Medal of Appreciation to Giancarlo Morolli RDP
During the Palmares of IBRA 2023, the FIP Board announced a medal of appreciation to FEPA Vice President Giancarlo Morolli in recognition of his service as a juror at FIP exhibitions. FIP Vice President Yigal Nathaniel presented the award, and FIP Director Peter Suhadolc read the motivation.
Dr Giancarlo Morolli RDP was a delegate of the FIP Thematic Commission since 1968, then Vice-President since 1975 and President from 1977 to 2004 and provided leadership in developing the FIP Regulations of Thematic Philately achieving universal acceptance of their concept. As a FIP juror, he served in over 50 FIP exhibitions from Belgica 72 to Ibra 2023, often as team leader and twice as the jury president.
