The fepanews.com website is back up and running after six weeks of silence.
We informed already in February, 2018, that the fepanews.com website will be updated and transferred to a new platform. However, our optimistic expectations about the ease of the technical process did not realize and it took several months to finalize the project.
During the transfer process the old platform was suddenly shut down on July 3 without our permission. In spite of our frequent and noisy complaints the platform provider did not re-open the site.
Finally on August 14 fepanews.com was up again with a new platform and layout. In addition, also fepanews.net address leads to these new pages.
The long silence has caused the FEPA community a lot of harm. We lost some two dozen news. They can be re-published in the near future, but unfortunately this doesn’t help the events and occasions which took place during the summer. We apologize for any inconvenience this very unfortunate occasion may have caused to our readers and the philatelic community.
We need now to gain back our readers, who have lost their confidence to the site. This will take a long time and a lot of effort. However, the sun is shining again and the recovery process is fully in our own hands. We trust that together we can make fepanews.com even better than ever before.

The Silverpostiljonen (silver post-rider) challenge trophy was presented by Claes Arnrup and Lars-Olow Carlsson from Postiljonen AB, to the right Sigurður R. Pétursson, chairman of the organising committee.
Hallvard Slettebø won the Championship Class at Nordia 2018 with his World Scouting exhibit . The Silverpostiljonen (silver post-rider) challenge trophy was presented by Claes Arnrup and Lars-Olow Carlsson from Postiljonen AB.
The venue for NORDIA 2018 was the Mýrin sport center. The Mýrin sport center was a newer and excellent suited location for the exhibition. Along its 566 frames were exhibited many of the best exhibits from the Nordic collectors.
The Icelandic Philatelic Federation was during June, 8th to 10th 2018 arranging a Nordic philatelic exhibition. The exhibition carried the name Nordia 2018, which is in accordance with a long standing Nordic tradition, being Sigurður R. Pétursson Chairman of the exhibition committee.
Nordia 2018 was the seventh Nordic philatelic exhibition arranged in Iceland, but the IPF has participated in these internordic exhibitions more or less ever since 1978.
Hallvard Slettebø, winner of the Championship Class at Nordia 2018 with his World Scouting exhibit, in front of the collection
The first Nordic exhibition arranged by the IPF was Nordia 84 (1984). Later came the Nordia 91, Nordia 96, Nordia 2003, Nordia 2009 and Nordia 2013. These exhibitions were arranged with great success in Reykjavík, in Hafnarfjörður and in Garðarbær. This time the exhibition was again arranged in Garðabær, near to Reykjavík. The exhibition committee was very satisfied for the success of the exhibition and so collectors in member clubs of the Nordic National Federations as well as members of the Scandinavian Collectors Club in USA and other visitors found the widely interesting cultural content of the collecting of stamps.
