RPSL and Royal Patronages
In his President’s Newsletter, dated 8 May, Mike J Y Roberts FRPSL, President of the Royal Philatelic Society London, wrote:
Some of you who follow the press briefings over in the UK will be aware that there has been a recent review of Royal Patronages.
Her late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II had about 460 Patronages of charities which she followed. To these were added several hundred from Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla, which together brought the total to approximately 1,000. All these have been the subject to a recent review to see which are to be continued; indeed the numbers have been cut down considerably.
I have received a personal letter from Sir Clive Alderton, The Principal Private Secretary to the King and Queen. He writes “I am pleased to confirm that His Majesty would be delighted to accept the Patronage of the Royal Philatelic Society. It is my great pleasure to share this news with you to mark the first anniversary of their Majesties’ Coronation”.
It is indeed a great honour for our Society. I would like to offer my sincere thanks to all those who have contributed to this including our staff and our many volunteers both in the UK and abroad.

The Exhibits for HAFNIA 24 are now on-line
The lists of exhibits at HAFNIA 24 are now available on-line. The lists are in both class and country order and a separate list for literature exhibits. Please take the opportunity to have a look at the lists and get a first impression of the many wonderful exhibits you will be able to see in Copenhagen in October.
In total we have 268 exhibits from 38 countries in 1498 frames plus 60 literature exhibits.

The Jury is now on-line
The jury is also available, and they are listed per team, so you will be able to see the jurors for each class. The jury president is Lars Jørgensen, Belgium/Denmark and the jury secretary is Peter Suhadolc, Slovenia. Honorary Jury President is our FEPA President Bill Hedley, United Kingdom.
In total there are 32 jurors, 7 apprentices and two experts from 33 countries.

New Board and President for the Philatelic Society of Egypt
We received the following announcement from our member, the Philatelic Society of Egypt.
At the Philatelic Society of Egypt a new board of directors was elected for the next four years at its General Assembly held on 8 December 2023. Later, the Board held its first meeting at which Hany Salam was elected president.
The new board is comprised of the following members:
The new Board is blessed with six new promising members, eager to serve the philatelic community. A national exhibition was immediately organised and was successfully held in January in partnership with the Egyptian Post.
