The international stamp exhibition, EuroPhilEx Birmingham 2025, hosted by the United Kingdom, will be held in Hall 9 of the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham from Wednesday, 7 May, until Sunday, 11 May 2025.
The National Exhibition Centre is easy to reach with Birmingham International Station part of the exhibition complex, and Birmingham International Airport close by. There are frequent and fast connections with the centre of Birmingham and to Coventry. The venue is located close to several motorway junctions, and has 16,500 car parking spaces with shuttle buses to the venue.
On the opening day, 7 May, the exhibition will be open from 11am to 6pm, and admission will cost £10, with early bird admission from 10am for £20. On all other days admission will be free, the exhibition being open from 10am to 6pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, 11 May.
There will be over 60 dealers present, including a stand for Royal Mail. In addition, there will be 2,000 frames of exhibits from more than 40 countries.
Royal Mail will have on sale a new issue of stamps marking Valour and Victory: Stories of the Second World War. The miniature sheet to accompany the set of stamps focuses on Dame Vera Lynn, the Forces Sweetheart: this sheet will also be on sale with a special EuroPhilEx overprint. In addition, there will be a Collectors Sheet titled ‘Victory Stamps, 1946: Symbols of Peace and Reconstruction’.
The Court of Honour will feature the world’s most valuable stamp, the British Guiana 1c black on magenta of 1856, being shown by courtesy of Stanley Gibbons, together with other exhibits of great rarities.
There will be a free souvenir sheet for visitors every day, while special cachets and cancellations will also be in use.
Thursday, 8 May, will be Society Showcase Day, with 45 societies having tables. Several societies will also be holding meetings during the event.

Federation of European Philatelic Societies (FEPA) Congress (Sunday, 11 May);
Auction by Cavendish Philatelic Auctions (Sunday, 11 May).
EuroPhilEx Birmingham 2025 is being organised by the Association of British Philatelic Societies in conjunction with Stamp World Exhibitions Ltd, and has FEPA patronage and FIP (International Federation of Philately) recognition.
With nearly 2,000 frames of displays provided by collectors from forty countries, there will be something to draw the attention of every visitor to EuroPhilEx 2025, the international stamp exhibition being held at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, from Wednesday, 7 May, until Sunday, 11 May.
Foremost among the competitive exhibits will be those in the FEPA Grand Prix Class. These will feature:
The Austrian Post in Hungary 1850-1867, from Adriano Bergamini;
The 1839-1840 British Postal Reforms: their Origins, Milestones and International Results, from James Grimwood-Taylor;
A Country Divided: Effects of the American Civil War on the Mails, from Daniel Ryterband;
The Evolution of Outbound Foreign Mail cancelled in New York City 1845-1878, from Nick Kirke;
The Forgotten War – IEF ‘D’ and the war in Mesopotania 1914-1918, from Professor Akthem Al-Manaseer;
Nepal: The Prestamp and Classic Period 1779-1907, from Rishi Kumar Tulsyan;
Norwegian Skilling Covers Domestic and Abroad, from Tom Komnaes;
Sarawak – The First Forty Years 1858-1898, from Simon Martin-Redman;
Classic Sweden 1855-1872, from Peter Stommendal;
Venice, Europe, the contagion, the disinfection … (postal history of the health office from XVI to XIX century), from Franco Rigo;

Other classes included in the exhibition are: Traditional (National, Europe and Rest of World); Postal History (National, Europe and Rest of World); Postal Stationery; Revenues; Thematics (Culture, Nature and Technology); Open Philately; Aerophilately; Astrophilately; Maximaphily.
The exhibits will be judged by an international Jury, headed by Jury President, Chris Harman, with Bill Hedley as Honorary Jury President. Jury Secretary will be Damien Läge, while Lars Engelbrecht will be FEPA Consultant, and Peter Suhadolc will be FIP Representative.
The medals awarded to exhibitors will take the design and shape of the exhibition logo, namely a 19th century Birmingham spoon duplex cancellation. Those in the FEPA Grand Prix Class and Large Gold and Gold medal winners will receive a gold-coloured medal; all other competitive exhibitors will receive a silver-coloured medal. Those displaying in the Court of Honour, plus gold and large gold patrons, will receive a red medal, while Jurors, Commissioners and helpers will receive a blue medal.
The Royal Philatelic Society London will be making a special presentation of its Exhibition Medal. Several other awards will be presented, including awards presented by the Global Philatelic Network (FEPA Grand Prix Class, the Grand Prix National and Grand Prix International), The Cavendish Auctions Postal History prize, the James Van der Linden medal for postal history research, the Postal Stationery Society Cup, the Silver Post Box for Traditional Philately, and the FEPA Certificate of Appreciation.
