Italia e Iberia: La posta fra gli Stati delle due penisole 1814–1876
Italia e Iberia: La posta fra gli Stati delle due penisole 1814–1876, translated into English as Italy and Iberia: Postal Relations Between the States of the Two Peninsulas 1814–1876, published by UNIFICATO in collaboration with AIFSP, is a book written by Lorenzo Carra. This bilingual publication (Italian and English) examines the postal connections of Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar, and the Spanish and Portuguese territories with all the former Italian states: Sardinia (and later Italy), Lombardy-Venetia, Trentino-Alto Adige and Trieste, Modena, Parma, Tuscany, the Papal States, Naples, and Sicily, from 1814 to 1876.
For each postal relationship, the author analyses the rates, postmarks, and routes in both directions through an extensive study of postal conventions and the examination of postal documents. Numerous letters are reproduced and meticulously described. The accompanying resources are comprehensive and highly useful: an index of postal conventions, an index of names and places, an index of postmarks, signs, and postal markings, and an extensive bibliography.
The 320-page, A4-format, hardcover book is available from Unificato at €80,-
