MAKSI RAVNE 2026 in Slovenia
Maksi Ravne 2026, the 5th Quadrennial inter-society philatelic exhibition of postcards, maximum cards and open philately with international participation, took place in Ravne na Koroškem, Slovenia. The exhibition of promotional rank II was attended by 36 exhibitors from Austria, Croatia, Italy, Hungary, North Macedonia, and Spain.
The Philatelic Society at Ravne na Koroškem, a recipient of the FEPA Certificate of Appreciation in 2019, has long been responsible for the youth philatelic circle at the local primary school, attended by 16 boys and girls. It was therefore no coincidence that the exhibition’s Commissioner General was himself a former participant. It was also particularly pleasing and encouraging that these youngsters contributed to the musical programme at the opening ceremony.
Veni Ferant, an expert on picture postcards, gave a presentation on postcards of Mt Saint Michel, emphasising research into the various publishers and printers and their techniques. One day of the exhibition was dedicated to the Postcrossing movement; this was the fifth meeting of postcrossers in Slovenia in the past three years.
