Pacific Steam Navigation Company Mail 1840-1854
This is a new publication by the Real Academia Hispánica De Filatelia e Historia Postal (Royal Spanish Academy of Philately and Postal History), Vol. XIV, of the RAHFeHP Specialised Library.
The 324-page bilingual book (Spanish and English), written by the academic Jesús Sitjà Prats, offers a census of the known letters carried by the steamers of Pacific Steam Navigation in the South American Pacific, along with a description of the handstamps applied. It also presents the routes of the steamers and the part of the postage paid to the company and the administrations of the countries involved: Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, current Colombia and Panama (the last two were part of the Republic of New Granada).
