Volume VΙ of Airmail and Aerophilately in Spain (1870–1970)
The Royal Hispanic Academy of Philately and Postal History (RAHFeHP) has recently published Volume VI of Enciclopedia Histórico Descriptiva ‘Correo Aéreo Y Aerofilatelia’ – España (1870-1970), compiled by Fernando Aranaz del Río and Eduardo Consejo Prieto. Comprising 503 pages, this volume brings to completion the subjects relating to airmail during the Spanish Civil War. As stated in the foreword, it concludes the study of the period between 1 January 1937 and 1 April 1939 on the so-called Nationalist side.
Volume VI examines in detail, among other topics, the stamp issues of the Burgos Government, special markings and labels for airmail, the Condor Legion and the Italian Volunteers, as well as other aspects such as express mail and crash mail.
Publication of Volume VII will follow shortly thereafter, commencing the study of airmail connected with Spain during the Second World War.
