Promoting Philately through Imagination and Creativity
“Trouble with Tariffs” is Chris King’s one-frame exhibit relating to British history, using picture postcards in an A3 format setup — a fine example of promoting philately through imagination and creativity.
It focuses on the campaign in 1903 for tariff reform led by Joseph Chamberlain, a prominent Conservative politician, which split the government and triggered a political realignment that reshaped early 20th-century British politics with far-reaching consequences.
The exhibit was awarded first place in this year’s Devonshire Bowl competition, demonstrating how much it was appreciated by visitors to RPSL on the day, who had the right to vote for the winning exhibits.
