Ankara Philatelic Association (Türkiye)
Ankara Fi̇lateli̇ Derneği̇
The Ankara Philatelic Association (ANFILA), founded in 1962, is one of Türkiye’s oldest and most active philatelic institutions. Based in the nation’s capital, Ankara, it represents the Turkish Philatelic Federation in relations with public bodies. For over six decades, ANFILA has promoted national heritage, encouraged new collectors and contributed to public education through the cultural value of postage stamps.
In cooperation with the Turkish Post, it delivers regular philatelic training in schools, helping to revive interest in stamp collecting. ANFILA operates from its own building—an exceptional achievement, as the property was gradually purchased through collective member contributions.
The Association enriches philatelic literature through brochures, bulletins and books, including the Catalogue of Turkish Charity Stamps. It promotes Turkish culture internationally by participating in national and international exhibitions and, in 2020, pioneered the world’s first online philatelic exhibition during the COVID-19 pandemic.
ANFILA annually organises exhibitions in cooperation with institutions and diplomatic missions, such as Japanese Stamps and Postcards (marking 100 years of Türkiye–Japan relations) and Vietnamese Stamps in 2025, each accompanied by public lectures. It also hosts physical and online seminars; six events in 2025 attracted wide national and international participation.
Its website, anfila.org, is among Türkiye’s leading philatelic resources, while its physical library is the country’s most extensive philatelic archive. Through its pioneering initiatives, educational mission and international collaborations, ANFILA stands as a model institution within Türkiye’s philatelic community.
