Slovakia’s philatelic portal www.philanotes.com has been updated

Dr Vojtech Jankovich, who is a member of the Board of the Slovak Federation, has let us know that he has added fresh news and articles to the philatelic portal at www.philanotes.com.

The portal is full of interesting information and is well worth a visit, especially in these days when we have to spend so much time in our homes. Google Translate into English is available at a click which makes the content easily accessible to a wider audience.

Visitors might start by going to the Stamp Territories and Territorial Philately section which contains notes and articles that range widely across the world. This section can be found at https://www.postoveznamky.sk/articles.php?typ_clanku_id=70&lng=EN.

If your Federation is doing innovative things that would be of interest to philatelists in other countries, please let us know and we will be glad to report them.

German Youth Philatelists focus on Definitives

Die Deutsche Philatelisten-Jugend e.V. has announced that its 2020 competition for Young Collectors will have the theme of ‘Meine Dauerserie’ (My Definitive Issue). Both Members and non-Members of the society are invited to show exhibits on this theme at the exhibition which will take place in Mainz on 3-4 October. A special information pack has been produced for entrants. As well as German definitives, similar issues from Switzerland and Russia will also be shown.

UNION OF PHILATELISTS OF MACEDONIA – 70 YEARS OLD

Congratulations to the Union of Philatelists of Macedonia which celebrated its 70th birthday on 19th March.

The Union, led by President Sinisha Pavleski and President of the Executive Board Dimitar Belchev, has a rich legacy of philatelic activities over the last 70 years during which it has worked in close cooperation with other societies in the region. It remembers its founders with pride and planned to hold a modest celebration of the anniversary at its premises on 19 March. Regrettably at the last minute these plans had to be put on hold due to the coronavirus emergency but they were able to mark the occasion in spirit.

We salute the Union’s achievements over 70 years and send warmest best wishes to them for the next 70!
