It is with great sadness that we report that Frank Walton passed away last night. He was suffering from stomach cancer.
Frank will be sorely missed. We send our heartfelt condolences to his family.
Frank Walton RDP FRPSL was a specialist in Sierra Leone philately, an international juror, formerly Editor of the London Philatelist (2001-2014), and a signatory of the Roll of Distinguished Philatelists (2015). He was greatly involved with the latest International Philatelic Exhibitions in London as General Commissioner in 2015 and as Chairman of the Organising Committee in 2022.
He was awarded the FEPA Medal for Exceptional Study and Research in 2014 for his six-volume study, The De La Rue Collection.
Grand Opening today of HUNFILEX 2022 World Stamp Exhibition in Budapest. The official ceremony was honoured by H.E. Mr János Áder, President of the Republic of Hungary, Mr. László Kövér, Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, and Ms. Sára Hegmanné Nemes, Chairman of the Hungarian Post.
The exhibition will take place in the Groupama Arena from 31 March to 3 April.

A short story uploaded on the Postal Museum (London) website by Ms. Georgina Tomlinson, Deputy Curator, Philately, introduced us to Marjorie Saynor (1924-2012), an artist, who submitted stamp designs to the Royal Mail during the 70s and the 80s.
Marjorie Saynor has been initially commissioned for two stamps of the 1970 Anniversaries issue, an then on for the complete sets of the 1972 Polar Explorers, the 1973 British Explorers, the 1976 British Cultural Traditions and the 1982 Maritime Heritage. In between, she has also submitted designs in several other occasions.
