At its 54th edition of the Asiago International Prize for Philatelic Art, also known as the Oscar of Philately, the Jury has bestowed the Oscar on two postage stamps.
The first, was a miniature sheet from the Czech Republic, celebrating William Shakespeare and his works. This is the fourth time the Prague Post has been awarded the Asiago Top Award.
The second was a Christmas stamp from Luxembourg depicting a melting snowman holding an umbrella, emphasising the climate change challenge.
More awards included the best stamp promoting tourism, won by Brazil, and the best one related to environmental issues, won by Croatia.
The Jury included Sophie Bastide, Raúl Berzosa, Giancarlo Bortoli, Franco Filanci Laura Filippucci, Giovanni Luigi Fontana, Valter Forte, Gianni Letta, Thomas Matha, Giorgio Migliavacca, Flavio
Rodeghiero, Orietta Rossi, Gaetano Thiene, and Marco Ventura.

The largest gathering of collectors in Central and Eastern Europe will take place again this year, on 6-7 September, at the PVA Expo Letňany fairground. More than 230 dealers from all over the world will offer stamps, coins, medals, banknotes, postcards, but also old stocks or autographs. Many of them are coming to Prague for the first time. Visitors can also look forward to an interesting accompanying programme.
A rare collector’s piece from the Titanic will be exhibited for the first time at the Sberatel Fair.

The Sarasota National Stamp Exhibition invites submissions to its seventh annual articles-only literature exhibition at the annual stamp show and exhibition scheduled for Jan. 17-19, 2025, at the Municipal Auditorium, 801 N. Tamiami Trail, in Sarasota, Fla.
A complete prospectus and entry form are available from the Sarasota Philatelic Club. Journal editors and authors are encouraged to submit articles of fewer than 8,000 words no later than Dec. 1. Authors wishing to participate are advised to send entries in quickly since space is limited.
