On behalf of the Organising Committee, I have the honor to officially announce that NOTOS 2021 is scheduled to be held in Athens, Greece, from 19 to 22 November 2021. Being a Continental Exhibition, NOTOS 2021 has already applied for and received the FEPA Patronage, which was approved at the 2018 FEPA Congress in Prague. It has also applied for and will soon obtain the FIP Recognition as well.
The AIJP (International Association of Philatelic Journalists) and the AEP (European Academy of Philately) have already expressed their support to the exhibition by also granting their Patronage.
The philosophy behind NOTOS 2021 is pretty much the same as the one of its predecessor in 2015: “High philatelic standards coupled with very low exhibitor’s fees”. The event will spread out to at least 2000 (16-page) frames and accommodate all Classes, including Open, Modern, Postcards and Digital Literature. The 7000 m2 venue is very close to a Metro station, which in turn is less than 15 minutes away from the Athens city centre. The weather in November in the nation’s capital is usually wonderful and we shall be delighted to welcome our exhibitors and visitors assuring them a memorable event.
NOTOS 2021 website (hps.gr/notos2021) is up and running as early as March 2018. You will find there all the details you may need. For your convenience, it is in English, French, German and (of course) Greek.
The website is continuously updated, so please spread the word to encourage our fellow philatelists to register in order to be able to receive first hand information.
All 45 European Federations, will be invited to appoint a National Commissioner and nominate Jurors. However, it is still quite early. Our formal request on that with all the necessary details will reach you in 2019, sometime in early autumn.
Although the Federations outside Europe are not entitled to a National Commissioner in NOTOS 2021, we shall welcome any exhibits which are strongly related to Europe. We shall also welcome all Philatelic Literature exhibits on any subject whatsoever.
For the time being, I would appreciate if you forwarded this e-mail to your affiliated societies and to individual philatelists of your country. I would also be grateful, if you published some of this information in your newsletters/journals or upload it on your website.
Our success depends a lot on your trust and support!
Please feel free to contact me at any time.

Three members of The Royal Philatelic Society London showed aspects of Latin America at the meeting held on 4 October. John Shaw MBE FRPSL displayed traditional philately of Paraguay and Haiti, Glen Stafford showed Nicaragua postal stationery, while Ray Todd OAM RDP FRPSL chose traditional philately of Chile, postal history of Haiti and postal stationery of Paraguay.
Ray Todd OAM RDP FRPSL with his wife Elsa, Patrick Maselis RDP FRPSL, President of The Royal Philatelic Society London, and John Shaw MBE FRPSL.
Introducing the displays, President Patrick Maselis RDP FRPSL commented that Latin America is a part of the world not often featured in displays given to the Society. Sadly Glen Stafford could not be present, but Ray Todd had come over from Australia, accompanied by his wife Elsa.
Giving the vote of thanks, Brian Trotter RDP FRPSL reiterated that Latin America is an area not seen often in the UK, yet on show was ‘beautiful, fascinating material’, with items to appeal to all – stamps, including essays and proofs; postal stationery, again with essays and proofs; and postal history. Brian added that all three displaying had been inspired by the late Brian Moorhouse, who devoted so much of his life to promoting the philately of the area.
Those wishing to visit The Royal Philatelic Society London at 41 Devonshire Place, London W1G 6JY, or be a guest at one of its meetings, are asked to contact the Administrative Office (020 7486 1044).
