In a letter dated 19 May 2025, the Chairman of the Bernauer Briefmarkenfreunde, Michael Fukarek, asked the AIJP to award its patronage and for the active support of AIJP members (authors and specialist journalists). ‘We are hoping for a strong literature class. As organisers, we will ensure that the composition of the literature jury guarantees an appropriate assessment of all literature classes, regardless of whether it is research literature, documentary literature or digital media.’
Meanwhile, the AIJP announced that it would be happy to fulfil the request—in a similar way to NAPOSTA 2020 and DEBRA 2024 in Haldensleben—and would be committed to supporting and promoting BEPHILA 2026.
Malcolm Groom RDP has retired as chairman of the FIP Postal History Commission and been replaced by Henrik Mouritsen RDP (Germany), the Commission’s secretary. This is in accordance with the FIP rule that, when the chairman of a commission retires in the middle of an elected period, the secretary may act as interim chairman until the next election.
The Commission is proposing to hold a qualifying seminar for prospective FIP postal history judges at the exhibition in South Korea in September. Details have still to be confirmed.
