Philatelia München at the MOC München-Freimann

After the successful re-launch on the first March weekend of 2023, the Philatelia München Stamp Fair will be held at the MOC München-Freimann on 2 and 3 March 2024 concurrently with the world-famous Numismata Coin Fair.
Many dealers will be coming back this year with a stand. Among them are numerous APHV (German Stamp Dealers Association) members and other reputable traders from home and abroad. About 50 specialised dealers, auction houses and accessory manufacturers are expected to offer a wide range of materials for beginners and advanced collectors. The Deutsche Post will present the new postage stamp on the 100th birth anniversary of the German artist Loriot at the premises.
The representatives of the Bavarian Philatelists Association and the ArGe Munich Philatelists Association will be the right contacts for all questions about collecting. They will provide visitors with advice and knowledge about collecting, exchanging, buying and selling stamps. The Federation of Philatelic Experts (Bund Philatelistischer Prüfer, BPP) will answer general questions and perform preliminary examinations at its consultancy desk right at the entrance. There will be also a special programme for young visitors.

DOBRICH FILEX 2023

DOBRICH FILEX 2023 (20–26 October), organised by the Union of Bulgarian Philatelists and the Bulgarian Post, took place in the Dora Gabe Regional Library in Dobrich, Bulgaria. One hundred frames accommodated the best Bulgarian exhibits in Thematic Philately, Maximaphily and Open Philately.
Owing to its very dense programme, the exhibition turned out to be a big philatelic show. In the first three days, attention was drawn to new stamp issues, each accompanied by a specially designed event. The stamp commemorating the 125th birth anniversary of writer Dimitar Talev was placed into circulation only after the theatre group at the Dimitar Talev Secondary School had performed a dramatised part from the writer’s works. The People’s Awakeners set of stamps was introduced by specialist teachers in Higher Education, engaged in the study of the honoured personalities. Students recited poems and presented felicitations to Bulgarian philatelists.
Although not competitive, DOBRICH FILEX 2023 turned out to review not only previously known exhibits but also several new ones. Of course, there is still much to be desired in their preparation and set-up, but the fact is that the exhibitors’ aspirations and desires are undoubtedly there.
A lot of youngsters visited the exhibition. If there was anything that made the strongest impression, it would be the numerous organised groups from the schools of the city and the greater region that were endlessly in front of the frames. There were special philatelic gifts for everyone, provided by the Union of Bulgarian Philatelists and the magazine Philatelic Review. Hopefully, some of these children will carry over the years memories of this philatelic exhibition and, as adults, will become serious collectors and stamp lovers.
DOBRICH FILEX 2023 is already history, but the philatelists from Dobrich, the representatives of the postal administration, and all of us who in one way or another were involved in organising the exhibition are already looking forward to next year and to DOBRICH FILEX 2024, which will continue the good start set in the October days in the city – the centre of the beautiful area of Dobrudja.
