New President for Great Britain Philatelic Society

At the recent Great Britain Philatelic Society (GPBS) Annual General Meeting, Alan Moorcroft FRPSL took over as the new GBPS President from the outgoing President, Andy Donaldson. Many thanks were expressed to Andy for his two years in the job.

Alan Moorcroft said, “We look forward to welcoming both new and experienced GB stamp and postal history collectors to our society. Our 2026-2027 GBPS programme features 22 meetings, most of which will be held at the Royal Philatelic Society in London, with an increasing number also available on Zoom.

He added, “During the next year the society will also host meetings at Stampex as well as Stanley Gibbons summer and winter receptions for society members. Some of the varied and interesting topics will include “The Team that delivered Penny Postage”, “GB with a Difference”, “Developments in Mail Cancellations in Britain and Ireland”, “Aspects of Collecting Local Postal History”, “The First Postage Stamps” as well as displays of Aerophilately and Members’ Displays. There really will be something for everyone”.
