Paris Reinforces the Future of Philately
Jay Bigalke, President and CEO at Scott Stamp LLC, has visited the recent Paris Expo and shared his impressions in a report for Linn’s Stamp News. His firsthand account highlights the exhibition’s standout features and innovative ideas for the future of philately. Here is a summary of his report:
Mondial du Timbre Paris 2026, held June 11–13 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, showcased the strengths of a modern international stamp exhibition. A major highlight was La Poste’s active participation, with daily stamp releases, artist signings and an efficient ticketing system. The show also embraced Postcrossing, encouraging crossover between postcard writers and stamp collectors. Family-friendly attractions, including a large Lego stamp mosaic, complemented competitive exhibits, dealers and educational activities. Celebrating the FIP’s centenary added historical significance. Like Boston 2026, the exhibition demonstrated that strong postal support, interactive experiences and inclusive programming are key to attracting collectors and newcomers alike.
