The Netherlands: Brievenbeurs – ‘Cover Fair’ 2015
Also young collectors are attending De Brievenbeurs
On April 3 and 4, 2015 the 22th international postal history and cover fair de Brievenbeurs, also for stamps and picture postcards, was held in Gouda, the Netherlands (just in the middle between Rotterdam, Utrecht and The Hague).
A unique -quality- fair for Postal History, Covers, Postal Stationary, Postmarks and Literature, stamps an picture postcards. Next to a number of leading Dutch traders, also traders from Germany, Belgium and the U.K. are present among the about 40 ehiibitors.
At this fair it is possible to look for a special item that is missing in the collection or exchange information about your collection. Study and trade are well going together at this fair. The entrance always is free.
Next year the fair will be held on the 25th and 26th of March, 2016.
Postal history and posmark collectors more and more uses a laptop to verify the collection. Traditionally many specialized societies are attending De Brievenbeurs.
Each year special activities are organised. This year the topic was ‘postage due’. Next year the topic will be ‘United Kingdom and Commonwealth’.
Each year “Filatelie”, the leading monthly magazine In The Netherlands (circulation 22.500 ex.), will support the fair and the theme with a thematic issue of the magazine, the same theme as De Brievenbeurs has, in March.
Also a competition of three interactive lectures about philately is held on the Saturday.
