Three New Inductees into the Albo d’Oro della Filatelia Italiana
On 27 September, during the BERGAMOFIL 2025 Palmares dinner, the Roll of Honour of Italian Philately welcomed three new members.
Claudio Ernesto Manzati: He was described as “an eclectic collector, able to explore many different areas and themes—classical, modern, and international—in which he has achieved excellent results. He also distinguished himself through his continuous and effective organisation of philatelic events. He was president of a federated society, which he led with commitment and professionalism, and through which he also undertook acts of patronage.” He is a member of prestigious organisations and has served as a delegate and international commissioner for Italy at many international exhibitions.
Giulio Perricone: “He has always been dedicated to philately and to Sicilian postal history, from the pre-philatelic period to the most modern times; on this theme, he has assembled important collections, recognised on multiple occasions at both national and international levels. President of the Sicilian Philatelic Union in his city from 2009 to 2024 and now its honorary president, he was the driving force behind many of the Union’s events, always a tireless organiser. He contributed with his valuable writings, expressing to the full his knowledge and research.” He was also responsible for establishing the first nucleus of the Postcard Museum, inaugurated in 2022.
Deborah Cecchi (honorary member): “The daughter of a member of the Roll of Honour of Italian Philately, she has carried forward his legacy in running the prestigious Institute of Postal Historical Studies, now named after her father. Though not a philatelist, she has succeeded in combining philatelic enthusiasm with the care and rigour of historical research.” She has been dedicated to establishing in Prato one of the largest philatelic centres in Europe, where passion, culture, and research will meet the optimistic and cheerful spirit that characterises her work.”
