75th Anniversary of the Macedonian Philatelists’ Union

A postage stamp was presented in Skopje on 31 October to mark the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Macedonian Philatelists’ Union (SFM). The event was organised by AD Post of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Macedonian Philatelists’ Union.

Sinisha Pavleski, president of the Union and designer of the SFM logo, addressed those present, saying: “It is an honour for me to stand before you today, in what might be described as a temple of postage stamps—the Union of Philatelists. The Union has proudly cherished its tradition since as far back as 1950. This is an impressive anniversary, more than seven decades dedicated to one of the most beautiful and educational hobbies, philately”.

Orhan Kurtishi, General Director of AD Posta, emphasised that “stamps are ambassadors of the country, our representatives in the world”. He congratulated the Union on its anniversary and expressed his hope that this stamp would find its place in philatelists’ collections around the globe.
