Holography and Philately — Postage Stamps with Holograms

A new edition of Holography and Philately by Professor Hans I. Bjelkhagen has recently been available.

The first hologram postage stamp was issued in 1988 in Austria. Up until 2025, hologram stamps have been issued in approximately 80 countries, and there are about 500 different stamps with holograms. The book was first published in 2013, and the third edition has now been updated with new hologram stamps issued up until 2025. New hologram stamps have only been with holographic foil letters and/or figures added. No hologram stamps with 3D hologram images have been issued over the last ten years.
