Discover Open Philately – the new and upcoming class
IBRA 2023, Sunday 28 May 2023, Room D/E, ‘CC Ost’, next to Hall 7
All are welcome to learn more about Open Philately
This seminar will introduce you to the fascinating world of Open Philately. You will hear about the endless possibilities of this new and exciting class which is all about good ideas, creativity, and variety of fascinating philatelic and non-philatelic material. You will be guided through the basic rules of exhibiting, and what the judges are looking for, which is what all exhibitors want to know. What makes this class different from any other exhibition class, is the use of non-philatelic material both to tell the story and to support the philatelic material. It’s creative, it’s interesting, it’s fun, it’s different, and it allows you to collect material from very different sources in one exhibit. Come and see for yourself!
If you want to become an FIP juror in Open Philately, this seminar is the first step, serving as one of the obligatory qualifying seminars that you need to attend. You should also have an Open Philately exhibit, which has achieved a Large Vermeil medal, 85 points, at an FIP Exhibition, and have served as a juror at two national exhibitions, before becoming a juror apprentice at an FIP exhibition.
Qualified jurors, who wish to be cross accredited in the Open Philately Class are most welcome.
