The Museum of Philately is a unique digital platform, hosted independently and free online and on Appstores, It captures and preserves award winning collections and rarities, as well as providing the facility to track provenance and pricing information. Launched in 2016 by David Feldman International Auctioneers as an App it is now also a fully integrated website. Its aim is to celebrate collecting and enhance the enjoyment for philatelists all over the world, as well as to preserve collections as a legacy for present and future generations.

The Museum has already built up an impressive list of collections on its platform and is on the look-out for new additions. It has just sent out a press release providing the following information:

‘This is an exciting opportunity for collectors to display their exhibits for the philatelic community to enjoy, including present
and future generations of philatelists. It is a unique way to showcase a collection in its entirety, and to update pages instantly, so that the entire assembly is presented as the collector conceived it at any time.

The Museum’s curators review and select key collections before highlighting them online; it is only important collections which are then displayed. These standout exhibits might have won at least an FIP gold medal or, in case of not having ever been exhibited, include unique material, or recognised rarities.

Collectors and philatelic enthusiasts can visit the Museum for free. It is a wonderful space to see these amazing collections and learn about top flight philatelists and their exhibits. Each collection has a description, collector’s biography, and high-resolution images presented in exhibition format on individual pages, which are all written up, and can be ‘enlarged’ and ‘zoomed’ into for more detailed analysis.

Marcus Orsi, leading the Museum of Philately team, comments:
“As a collector I noticed that many wonderful collections are never displayed, and even some exhibitors only rarely show their material. The Museum really opens the doors to these collectors, allowing a wider philatelic audience to enjoy the collections and increase the awareness of the hobby. The David Feldman team created the Museum of Philately and we continue to grow the concept. Over the next few months we will be developing the Museum further and showing at Virtual Stampex. Submitting your collection for consideration and inclusion within the Museum is free, you just need to be able to tick at least one of the boxes below:
• Have you ever exhibited?
• Have you got outstanding rarities within your collection?
• Has your collection been awarded at least an FIP Gold Medal?
