The Revenue Salon “World of Revenues”, devoted solely to fiscal philately, to be held in Essen, Germany, in May 2019, has issued its Bulletin number 1.
This international exhibition will be organized in cooperation by the FIP Revenue Commission, German Society for Fiscal Philately “Arbeitsgemeischaft Fiscalphilatelie im BDPh e.V.” and International Stamp Fair Essen. As this is the first time such a special revenue exhibition will be held, the Salon takes place with a non-competitive basis. However, every exhibitor who wishes will get an exhibit evaluation by a group of experienced jurors. The expected size of the Salon will be 200 frames.
Being sure the “World or Revenues” Salon will promote Revenue collecting and exhibiting worldwide, we are pleased to publish the first Bulletin of the event.
Exactly 175 years after the first Swiss stamp, the Museum of Communication in Bern, in collaboration with the Postage Stamp Interest Group and the Swiss Post, celebrate the exhibition “Extreme: 175 Years of Swiss Stamps” which will last from March 2 to July 8, 2018. The rarest and most precious stamps of this period are presented.
On March 1, 1843, Switzerland writes a new page of history: in Zurich we could for the first time send a pre-stamped letter using a postage stamp costing only a few cents. The Swiss postage stamps are an international event, as Switzerland has a pioneering spirit: after England, it was the second country in the world to introduce the use of postal stamps.
