Opening meeting of the Royal Philatelic Society London at 15 Abchurch Lane
More than 200 members attended a superb display of New South Wales and Western Australia material from the Royal Philatelic Collection at the opening meeting at 15 Abchurch Lane. The meeting room on the second floor was packed at 4.45 pm to hear Prof. Charles Oppenheim’s presentation of our latest and popular publication ‘The History of the Royal Philatelic Society London 1869 – 2019.’ This was followed by Chris Harman’s vote of thanks and the reading of the Notice of Thanks to Her Majesty The Queen by the Hon. Assistant Secretary. Refreshments served in the members’ lounge concluded a memorable day.
Meeting 26 September 2019
The next meeting on 26 September comprises a large display by the North Region featuring a wide range of postal history, traditional philately, postal stationery, ephemera, postcards and Cinderella material from 18 countries. Once again a high attendance is expected for the second meeting at 15 Abchurch Lane.
