World Stamp Championship ISRAEL 2018

The Israel Philatelic Federation with the support of The Israel Post Company and the Israel Philatelic Service will host the World Stamp Championship ISRAEL 2018 under the FIP Patronage from May 27 to 31, 2018 in Jerusalem.

Granted the FEPA Recognition to NORDIA 2020

The activity of the FEPA members does not stop. And in the FEPA Board we are looking forward to help. Now it has been again the Swedish Federation that submitted the application for FEPA Recognition of NORDIA 2020, to be celebrated in Malmö on September 4th to 6th 2020.

New FEPA Exhibition: MALMEX 2018

Following the request of the Swedish Federation, on the 2nd of July the FEPA Board has unanimously agreed in granting the FEPA Recognition to the Exhibition MALMEX 2018 to be held in Malmö, Sweden, from August 31th to September 2nd 2018.

Thematic International Exhibition “EXPHIMO 2017”

From the 3rd to the 5th of June 2017 took place the annual thematic international exhibition of the FSPL (Fédération des Sociétés Philatéliques du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg) in Bad Mondorf, organized by Philcolux, with the active participation of the VPhA, the working groups of the German Federation.

Presented the FEPA Awards 2016

Most of the annual Awards were presented at the FEPA Congress. The Medals and the Certificates were handed out at the Congress held in Tampere, Finland on the 28th of May.

Minutes of the 2017 FEPA Congress, Tampere May 28th 2017

Were present 39 out of the 43 National FEPA Members, which means 90,7 % attendance. So, all decisions of the Congress were valid. Also attended the Congress 14 Observers nominated by their respective FEPA National Federations, Associations or Unions. The whole minutes of the Congress.

John Daes, Hellenic postal rates 1828-1875

Following six years of painstaking study and exhaustive research, John Daes, presented us with a ground-breaking addition to international literature: Hellenic postal rates 1828-1875, Volume A (1828-1861), 569 pages; Volume B (1861-1875) 659 pages; the list of contents and some comments are also translated into English.

Michael Adler deceased – A huge loss for philately

We are informed that has passed away Michael Adler, FEPA, Vice-President 1992 to 1994, FEPA President from 1994 to 1995 and after 2001 again Vice-President. Great philatelist and great person. Rest in peace.

JEAN VORUZ, WINNER OF THE FINLANDIA 2017 FEPA GRAND PRIX CLASS

Jean Voruz with his exhibit “Geneva Postal Services 1839–1862” won the FINLANDIA 2017 FEPA Grand Prix Class. The other Grand Prix were the Grand Prix International, for Joseph Hackmey with “Classic Romania” and the Grand Prix National for Erkki Toivakka with “Finland 1856–1875”.

The control of the Tampere Hall has counted 8.789 visitors on the 24 and 25 of May, the two first days of the Exhibition, surpassing all the expectations. Were very busy the dealers, the Postal Administrations stands with also many visitors looking at the frames.

NEW DEADLINE FOR PRESENTING NOMINATIONS – FEPA AWARDS 2016

Magyar Posta cooperates with Deutsche Post’s Dhl Parcel Europe Network

Magyar Posta and Pošta Slovenije joined DHL Parcel Europe’s network, expanding the DHL network for cross-border e-commerce by two additional countries. Customers already can send MPL Europe Standard parcels to Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland and Slovakia.

Awards at the DFF, Danmarks Filatelist Forbund

At the Assembly of Representatives Jørgen Jørgensen and Søren Chr. Jensen received the DFF gold pin and thus they became honorary members of DFF. Bo Høifeldt from PostNord was given a silver needle.

FIP and FEPA Approved Seminars at FINLANDIA 2017

FINLANDIA 2017 is enhanced by wide program of Seminars, Meetings and Lectures. Eight International Philatelic Seminars will be arranged during the Exhibition in the premises of the official Exhibition Hotel Scandic Tampere City (Hämeenkatu 1, Tampere). Five of them are FIP Approved Seminars, three of them with a status of Qualifying Seminar. Three Seminars have a FEPA Status. Please note that the timetable is preliminary and the times and rooms can still change.

FEPA Symposium of Youth Philately

The FEPA Symposium of Youth Philately will be held on Saturday 27th of May, in Tampere, during “FINLANDIA 2017”. Eight FEPA Federations amongst the most successful on Youth Philately, will have specialists in the youth field presenting their best practices to all the attendants: Austria by Alfred Kunz; Cyprus by Nicos Rangos; Denmark by Ib Krarup Rasmussen; France by Claude Désarménien; Germany by Axel Brockmann; Slovenia by Bojan Bračič; Spain by José Pedro Gómez-Agüero; and Sweden by Peter Nordin.

Elected the new Board of the Union of Bulgarian Philatelists

On December 3rd , 2016, in Sofia was held the Congress of the Union of Bulgarian Philatelists with the election of a new Board. For President was elected Spas Panchev and Vice-presidents George Detchev and Konstantin Penkov.

The Specialized World Stamp Exhibition PRAGA 2018 signs the contract of the FIP Patronage

The exhibition, which already had received the FEPA Recognition at the 2016 FEPA Congress in Viana do Castelo, Portugal, has signed on the 26th October the contract of the FIP Patronage.

Exhibition on «Nature, Environment, Ecology» in Luxembourg

From the 7th to the 9th October has been held in Luxembourg the exhibition "Mamer 2016" organized by the Philatelic Circle Mamer, emphasizing the promotion of philately and to raise awareness of the importance of taking care of Nature.

FEPA Recognition to the ECTP 2017, European Championship for Thematic Philately

From the 11th to the 13th May 2017, will take place again the successful ECTP in Essen, Germany, as part of the 27th International Stamp Fair. The FEPA Board has been unanimous in granting the FEPA Recognition to the Exhibition and Seminars.

THE HIGHEST PHILATELY: VARDØ 2016

From the 7th to the 9th October has been held the Exhibition in Vardø (Norway). It is definitely the most North stamp exhibition for any FEPA or FIP country. No one can beat us in 2016!

Granted FEPA Recognition to GMUNDEN 2017: Gmunden will be the first European city hosting for three consecutive years a FEPA Exhibition

After the great success of the two previous events, the FEPA Board has unanimously agreed in granting the FEPA Recognition to the Exhibition with international participation “GMUNDEN 2017” that will be celebrated from the 24th to the 27th of August 2017.

At the 2016 Congress the Board of the Danmarks Filatelist Forbund has been re-elected except for the President, as Sören Chr. Jensen did not presented his candidacy for re-election. Niels Kristian Hansen was elected new President.

FEPA Exhibition “EXFILNA 2017” in Saragossa: Eduardo de Paz and Jesús Sitjá, Grand Prix winners

The exhibition, held in Saragossa at the Palacio de Sástago and the Audorium Complex, presented 820 frames. Eduardo de Paz won the GP of the Championship Class with his “Papal States”, whilst the EXFILNA 2016’s GP was for Jesús Sitjá fot his “Maritime Mail of South Pacific from 1819 to UPU”.

JUPHILA 2016. Promotion of Philately through the Youth: The German Championship of Young Philatelists

The German Federation, BDPh - Bund Deutscher Philatelisten, leaded by the President Uwe Decker, gives an important role to the activities with the Youth. The JUPHILA 2016 held in Mainz from the 16th to the 18th of September has been a new event of efficient and friendly work for the future of Philately.
