The FEPA Symposium of Youth Philately will be held on Saturday 27th of May, in Tampere, during “FINLANDIA 2017”. Eight FEPA Federations amongst the most successful on Youth Philately, will have specialists in the youth field presenting their best practices to all the attendants: Austria by Alfred Kunz; Cyprus by Nicos Rangos; Denmark by Ib Krarup Rasmussen; France by Claude Désarménien; Germany by Axel Brockmann; Slovenia by Bojan Bračič; Spain by José Pedro Gómez-Agüero; and Sweden by Peter Nordin.

At the Annual General Meeting of the Federation of Philatelic Societies of Ireland has been elected the following Executive Council: President Mr. Brian Warren, Vice-President Mr. Michael Burrington, Hon. Secretary Mr. Patrick Casey.

It is a great pleasure to inform that today we have received the request from the Association of Philatelists, Maximaphilists and Cartophilists from the Republic of Moldova to become a FEPA member.

Spain, Belgium, Cyprus, France and Italy will participate from the 10th to the 13th of May 2017 in Avilés (Asturias), Spain, at the “MAXIESPAÑA-2017” National Spanish Exhibition of Maximaphily and the JUVENIA 2017, National Youth Spanish Exhibition. Both Exhibitions have received the FEPA Recognition.

That postage stamps are not just a hobby, but also an object of acquiring knowledge and education, 11th School of Young Philatelists "TRAKOSCAN 2016" has also proven this year.

The philatelic exhibition OsmoOkno Kranj 2017 is organized by the Slovenian Philatelic Association and the Museum Gorenjski in Kranj in order to support competitive one frame exhibiting and to improve international co-operation among regions of Alps Adria and south-eastern Europe.

At the 74th FIP Congress held in Taipei, also were elected Reinaldo Macedo as Vice-President and Aldo Samamé, Director, representing FIAF, the American Continental Federation.

From the 9th to the 15th of October 2017 will be held in Portugalete the Spanish National Exhibition with International participation and FEPA Recognition, “EXFILNA 2017”. It is worthwhile to discover the City, the Exhibition and the people behind it!

From the 7th to the 9th October has been held the Exhibition in Vardø (Norway). It is definitely the most North stamp exhibition for any FEPA or FIP country. No one can beat us in 2016!

The exhibition, held in Saragossa at the Palacio de Sástago and the Audorium Complex, presented 820 frames. Eduardo de Paz won the GP of the Championship Class with his “Papal States”, whilst the EXFILNA 2016’s GP was for Jesús Sitjá fot his “Maritime Mail of South Pacific from 1819 to UPU”.

The Union of the Philatelists of Macedonia has presented us with an interesting new book, the “Small Philatelic Lexicon” by Klime Popovski. It is the first philatelic book published in the country.

At the 129th IOC Session in Rio de Janeiro, full IOC recognition was granted to AICO, pursuant to Article 3.7 of the Olympic Charter. AICO, under the Presidency of Dr. Roman Andrzej Babut, Thematic Juror and Honorary Memeber of the Polish Philatelists Union, is “A center of excellence for understanding and fostering the Olympic Movement through collectibles”.

The Union of Czech Philatelists has elected new officials for 2016 – 2020. The new Executive Board and Supervisory Board have been elected at General Assembly in Prague. The boards ´election period covers among others the Specialized World Stamp Exhibition PRAGA 2018.

On 12-14 August was held HALLFRIM 2016 the Swedish National exhibition of stamps and postcards arranged by the Halmstads Philatelic Association which celebrated its Centenary.

The prize as Best in Show and Large Gold Medal was awarded to Mr Sandeep Jaiswal with British India - Queen Victoria Postal Stationery. Other main prizes were to Mr Jon Aitchison, Mr Stan Lawrence, Prof Peter Chadwick and Mr. Colin Hoffman.

From the late 1600s and for more than two centuries the mail was transported along the Norwegian coastline in small, open boats. Despite skilful seamanship several shipwrecks happened in this period. For the first time this area of the Postal History has been researched, thanks to the work of Egil H. Thomassen.

A new issue of FEPA News was printed and distributed a few days ago. All the FEPA members are receiving the copies they requested for distribution within their countries. This number 29 covers the most relevant Philatelic events from January to June 2016, as well as information about the upcoming exhibitions and events of the second semester of 2016 and even advance information of those of 2017. On the 18th of June was held the Annual General Meeting of the Slovenian Philatelic Association. It was celebrated in a friendly atmosphere, and was elected the new Board: President: Peter Suhadolc, Vice presidents: Bojan Bračič and Igor Pirc

10.06.2016 Due to serious health problems and imperative advice of his doctor, our President Jvo Bader was forced to resign with immediate effect. For FSPhS and the Central Committee, the resignation comes unexpectedly.

The Hellenic Philatelic Federation aiming the spread and promotion of philately, organized a cycle of Philatelic Seminars for the general public along the month of February, March, April and May 2016.

According to the program of the Balkanfila 2016 FEPA Exhibition in Tirana, Nicos Rangos and Jovan Basho presented very interesting Seminars on Fakes and Forgeries from two different approaches.

At the recent FEPA Congress has been granted the FEPA Recognition to the Exfilna 2017, to be held from the 7th to the 12th October in Portugalete, next to Bilbao, Spain. The Spanish Federation will send invitations to participate to the French and to the Hungarian Federations.

During the FEPA Congress celebrated in Viana do Castelo, Portugal, were handed out the awards of Mr. Francis Kiddle in memoriam, Mme Michèle Chauvet, Mr.Calin Marinescu, the Philatelic Society of Sofia „Petko Karaivanoff” and the Briefmarken-Sammler Verein Gotha 1890 e.V.

LUBRAPEX 50 ANOS, Portugal-Brazilian Exhibition with Germany (67 exhibits) and Italy (26) as guests Federations began yesterday with 252 Exhibits displayed on 965 frames. To celebrate the 50 year of continuous LUBRAPEX, probably the oldest binational exhibition of the world, it received the FEPA Support.

We are very pleased having every year more FEPA Exhibitions. As in some points our Statutes and FREGEX are not so clear, the enclosed Summary of the FEPA Exhibitions may be of help for those FEPA member thinking on the possibility of organizing an exhibition with the FEPA Patronage, Support or Recognition.

In two weeks time will be celebrated the LUBRAPEX 50 Years Exhibition with the 2016 FEPA Congress. A beautiful Catalogue has been published plenty of useful information, the whole program of events and interesting articles.

The Assembly of the National Federation of Hungarian Philatelists (MABEOSZ) elected on the 27th of February 2016 on extraordinary election Mr. Peter Dunai as interim President.

On the 5th of March was held the Congress of the Portuguesa Federation ( “Federaçao Portuguesa de Filatelia” ), in which was elected the new Board as follows:

The FEPA Regulations for the Picture Postcard were approved by the FEPA Congress in Athens. Since then, several federations as the Polish, the Spanish or the Belgian has already translated it into their languages. The Féderation des Sociétés Philateliques du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg, informed us on the 11th of February of the election of its new Board of directors. Our best wishes for succéss!

The 11th School of Young Philatelists / National Youth Philatelic Exhibition with international participation "TRAKOSCAN 2016", will be held from October 8th to October 16th 2016 in the Castle of Trakoskan, Croatia.

On 18 January AICPM, the largest Italian postal history association, launched a new philatelic Portal, www.stampontheweb.com . Stampontheweb is a portal for everyone sharing our hobby, designed to make life easier as far as searching for information in the web is concerned.

The just finished "3rd Continental Philatelic Exhibition", organized by the Philatelic Society of Egypt on the occasion of the 150 year of first Egyptian Stamp, has resulted in a great success, its third successful event in one year!
