To commemorate the 100 years of the Independence of Estonia, Tallin will host from the 13th to the 15th July 2018 the Exhibition with FEPA Recognition “ESTEX 2018”, open to the Baltic sea countries and to Estonian Philatelic exhibits from all over the world. The exhibit of Geza Hommonay “Postal History of the first issue of Hungary” has been elected as one of the 3 candidates to the Championship Grand Prix at Philataipei 2016.

From the 7th to the 9th October has been held in Luxembourg the exhibition "Mamer 2016" organized by the Philatelic Circle Mamer, emphasizing the promotion of philately and to raise awareness of the importance of taking care of Nature.

After the great success of the two previous events, the FEPA Board has unanimously agreed in granting the FEPA Recognition to the Exhibition with international participation “GMUNDEN 2017” that will be celebrated from the 24th to the 27th of August 2017.

The German Federation, BDPh - Bund Deutscher Philatelisten, leaded by the President Uwe Decker, gives an important role to the activities with the Youth. The JUPHILA 2016 held in Mainz from the 16th to the 18th of September has been a new event of efficient and friendly work for the future of Philately.

Today has been broadcast the Seminars of Thematic Philately “How to improve my thematic exhibit?” and of Postal History “The use of the present Regulations”. Both can be reviewed in You Tube.

From the 25th to the 28th August has been held the 20th Edition of the GMUNDEN Philatelic Exhibition, that for the 3rd consecutive year had the FEPA Recognition.

On the 24th and 25th of October will be held the election of the Board of the FIP Commissions in Taipei. Federations members of FEPA have appointed candidates for Commission's Chairman: Engelbrecht Lars, Denmark (Postal Stationery); Ebner Ralph, Germany (Revenues); Suhadolc Peter, Slovenia (Thematic) and Svendsen Lars Peter, Denmark (Traditional). All the four are only candidates to be elected Chairman of their Commissions.

The FIP Postal Stationery Commission, leaded by Lars Engelbrecht, has issue its August Newsletter, plenty of interesting information.

I have just received a telephone call from Claes Arnrup with the very sad news that Knud Mohr has passed away today.

The Research and Literature Association of Philatelists of Bucharest in cooperation with the Romanian Philatelic Federation have organized an exhibition specialized in Literature (works published in Romania or abroad since 2006) and Picture Postards, to be held at the Parliament of Romania from the 26th to the 30th of October 2016. The participation in FILA-CARTO BUCHAREST 2016 exhibition is free.

In a unique collaboration in Roeselare, Belgium, the Netherlands was at the national exhibition Westfila 2016, being present with a large number of collections and two members of the jury.

On 21st May 2016, was held the HPS Medal Awards Ceremony for the years 2011-2015. The awardees were: Nick Cardassilaris, Philatelic Society of Piraeus, Anthony Virvilis, Theodore Papaeliou, John Coundouros, Michalis Tsironis, Michalis Petradakis and Wolfgang Bauer.

170 exhibits, including those of the Federations guests, Spain and Italy, were present at the Exhibitions Park « Port de Versailles » for a new festival of philately.

For the first time in history, a thematic exhibit has been Candidate to the Grand Prix National at a World Stamp Exhibition. It happened in the present New York 2016, with the exhibit “Life and fate of the American Natives”.

At the FEPA Congress held on the 30th April, Vit Vanicek, in the name of the Union of Czech Philatelists requested the FEPA Recognition for the Specialised World Stamp Exhibition PRAGA 2018, wich was granted with the votes of all the Delegates.

As many as 58 exhibits received Gold or Large Gold medals, which reflect the extremely high level of the Exhibition. Out of competition also were exhibited six outstanding collections from the DASV, German Association of Postal History. The Palmares marked the end of a fantastic exhibition.

From the12th to the 17th of April was held the “Eurospace 2016" International Astrophilatelic Exhibition at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Prague with FEPA Recognition and the participation of philatelists from Austria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Slovakia, Spain and Switzerland.

Today we have been informed that after the General Assembly in Nicosia the participants from all cities of Cyprus voted for a new Board of the Cyprus Philatelic Federation. The results are as follows

After a collaboration of Nicos Rangos with UPU Management, he has obtained the authorization to publish and link in www.fepanews.com the illegal stamps issued in a number of countries members of the Universal Postal Union. This information is essential for experts, jurors and for many collectors in order to avoid buying and exhibiting such illegal stamps.

On the 13th of February was held in Milano–Linate, the 2016 FEPA Board Annual Meeting. The following Minutes reflects the main discussions and matters treated at the meeting.

In its meeting held in Milan on 13 February 2016, the FEPA Board analyzed the proposals submitted by the member Federations and agreed on awarding the 2015 FEPA Medals and Certificates of Appreciation as follows:

A new issue of FEPA News has been printed. All the FEPA members will receive the copies they requested for distribution within their countries. This number 28 covers the most relevant Philatelic events from July 2015 to the beginning of January 2016, information about the upcoming exhibitions and events, as well as other interesting information and articles. On January 18, 2016 Berliner Philatelisten-Klub von 1888 e. V. organized its 2707 meeting (Sitzung). The central part of this meeting was a lecture on Astrophilately.

The Special Regulations for the Evaluation of Picture Postcard Exhibits at FEPA Exhibitions were approved by the FEPA Congress in Athens, on 15 November 2015. They are subject to review by the 2018 FEPA Congress. These Regulations apply to all those exhibitions granted FEPA patronage, support or recognition at, or following, the 2015 FEPA Congress.

From the 31st of December 2015 to the 6th of January 2016, Cairo hosted the “3rd Continental Exhibition” with FEPA Recognition. Were exhibited 223 frames of 11 classes and 71 exhibits from 8 countries: Egypt, Bahrain, Cyprus, Great Britain, Lebanon, Oman, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.

December 2015 marked the 90th anniversary of the Philatelic Society of Sofia "P. Karaivanov" (Софийско Филателно Дружество "П. Караиванов"). The President, Boncho Bonev, requested the presence of the FEPA President who attended the event.

From the 5th to the 8th of November has been held the Bulgarian National Exhibition in Veliko Tarnovo, the ancient capital of the country.

Over 35 national and international jurors from 15 FEPA countries gathered in Budapest on 16 October for a three-day FEPA seminar on judging techniques organised by Mr.Denes CZIROK under the auspices of the Hungarian Philatelic Federation (MABEOSZ).

Following on from the production of the IREX, the Agreement between the FEPA and the Philatelic Federation of Finland SFFF and the Foundation for Promoting Finnish Philately was signed in Tampere Hall on Saturday 3 October 2015.

The Italian philatelists meet in Florence, the town of Donatello and Michelangelo at the national exhibition “Florence 2015”, whilst Rome, hosts a top philatelic event: “Quirinal Palace Open Doors to Philately”. The Quirinale palace, seat of the Popes, the Kings and now of the Presidents of the Italian Republic.

It was a real successful exhibition with more than 80 collections. There was a special room only for Astrophilately organized by Mr. Igor Rodin with the presence of two active Russian cosmonauts: Oleg Artemyev and Roman Romanenko

In 2016 the Portuguese Federation of Philately will commemorate 50 years of LUBRAPEX Exhibitions between Portugal and Brazil. For this outstanding Anniversary will also participate the Federations of Germany and Italy, in the beautiful city of Viana do Castelo, near Porto.

The European Academy of Philately, AEP, organized an outstanding meeting during London 2015 EUROPHILEX, in which were presented 17 Displays of the highest interest.

From the 13th to the 16th of May was held London 2015 EUROPHILEX”. This show was an innovation in the international philatelic calendar.

The initial target of 800 frames was easily surpassed, since our friends-exhibitors mainly from the countries of the European South applied for considerably more frames in their entry forms. The Organizing Committee decided to increase the total exhibition space to 3500 m2

FEPA Honorary President Dr. Alan Huggins shares his opinion about the present situation of philately.

From the 18th to the 25th of March, collectors from Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, New Zealand, Pakistan and Turkey meet in Çanakkale to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Çanakkale Wars (Gallipoli Campaign) and to promote friendly relations and maintain close cooperation among the philatelists of the countries involved in the Çanakkale Wars.

On the 22nd of March, the Féderation des Sociétés Philateliques du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg, elected the corresponding part of the Board, according to their Statutes

FEPA News 26, just published, includes the main philatelic events held in Europe and other Mediterranean countries during the second half of 2014 as well as the information about the events taking place in 2015.

The recent issue of “FILATELIA” cover all main philatelic activities of the Romanian Federation in the period 2011-2014, including the International Exhibitions. Also it is plenty of interesting articles from Wolfgang Maassen , Francisc Ambrus , Alexandru Bartoc , Julieta Pascanu etc. Also includes the 799 special postmarks 2011-2015, with good images of all of them.

Under the patronage of the Egyptian Post Office, The Philately Society of Egypt celebrated its first continental exhibition from the 1st of January until the 6th of January 2015 in the Faculty of Fine Arts located in the elite Zamalek District of Cairo. The exhibition period coincided with the Post Day on the 2nd of January and also celebrated the passing of 150years since establishing the Egyptian Post Office.

The FEPA Representative at the Bureau of the FIP Commission for Postal History, Per Friis Mortensen, has sent to us its Activity Report 2014 within the FEPA area, which demonstrate the increasing importance of PH in Exhibitions and Seminars.

Nordia 2014 was held in Lilleström near Oslo on November 21-23 2014.
