The FEPA Board received the request of the Austrian Federation, Verband Österreichischer Philatelisten-Vereine, to change the name of the Exhibition to be held from the 23 to the 26 August 2018. Instead of “Gmunden 2018” will be called ¨phila” – Toscana.
EUROSCOUT 2018: Eleven Countries Exhibition

José Ramón Moreno awarded with the 2018 FESOFI Medal
At the General Assembly of the Spanish Federation were awarded the 2018 FESOFI’s Medal, the highest recognition of the Spanish Federation. The Individual Medal was granted to the FEPA President, José Ramón Moreno, while the Collective Medal was for the Rioja’s Philatelic and Numismatic Society.

Change of the FIP Guidelines for Open Philately
According to the FEPA request, proposed through the FIP Vice-President representing FEPA, Bernard Jimenez, the FIP has agreed in changing the points for the evaluation of the Open Philately Class, deleting the criteria “Importance” and joining in just one criteria of “Treatment” the previous separation of “Philatelic Treatment” and “Non Philatelic Treatment. This could be considered as a first step towards the wishes expressed by the Swedish Federation in its Motion at the 2017 FEPA Congress.

This Åland post card was postmarked at the “Finlandia-2017” FEPA exhibition in Tampere and addressed to the crew of the International Space Station (ISS). Being delivered to Russia, the card was handed over to the crew of the Russian "Soyuz MS-05”.
Granted the FEPA Recognition to the EXFILNA 2018 in Seville
The FEPA Board has unanimously agreed in granting the requested FEPA Recognition to the Spanish National Exhibition with International Participation “EXFILNA 2018” to be held in Seville from the 31st of October to the 4th of November. The three beautiful spaces where would be displayed the 750 frames are right in the center of the city.

Nexofil Awards to the Best Stamps of the World

100th Anniversary of the Slovenian Chainbreakers: Commemoration with two international events
The first Slovenian Post Stamps with the motif of a slave breaking his chains - the Chainbreakers- symbolising the new State of Slovenes, Croatians and Serbs declared on October 29, 1918. The Slovenian Philatelic Association will commemorate the Centennial of the Chainbreaker stamps with two international events.

Sad News: Paolo Vollmeier has passed away
Chairman of the Fight against Forgeries FIP Commission, Member of the FIP Expert Team, Fellow of the RPSL, awarded with the Crawford Medal, Roll of Distinguished Philatelists, President of the Consilium Philateliae Helveticae, he was a giant of the Postal History research and a wonderful person.
Christoph Gärtner International Promotion Award 2017: The 1st prize for the Collectors Club of Chicago

FEPA Recognition for “Slovenija2019” the Alps-Adria exhibition in Slovenia
Within only few days, three new important philatelic events have requested and obtained the FEPA Recognition. The Slovenian Philatelic Association, FZS, has been granted the FEPA Recognition for “Slovenija2019” the Alps-Adria exhibition in Slovenia, that will be dedicated to the 100 years of the first issue of the Chainbreakers, the first Slovenian stamps issued in January 1919.
LONDON 2020 receives the FEPA Recognition
On the 11th of November the FEPA Board has been pleased to grant the requested FEPA Recognition to LONDON 2020 International Stamp Exhibition. Will be held at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London from Saturday 2 May 2020 until Saturday 9 May 2020.
Granted the FEPA Recognition to GMUNDEN 2018 “100 years of the Austrian Republic 1918 – 2018”
The Exhibition will take place from the 23th to 26th of August 2018. Gmunden was already the first European city hosting for three consecutive years a FEPA Exhibition. Now this record with be extended to four FEPA Exhibitions in a row. This deserves a very special and warm congratulations!

The Spanish Agustin Alberto de León, Grand Prix of the FEPA Exhibition “EXFILNA 2017”
Mr. Alberto de León was the winner of the Exfilna 2017 Grand Prix. Mr. Luis Alemany won the Grand Prix of the Championship Class. Mr. Ramón Cortés won the Prix to the best Postal History exhibit. María Teresa Miralles received the Prix for the best Thematic, while the Hungarian Artúr Bánás won the Prix of the Olympic Academy.

Philotelia into the digital age

Granted the FEPA Recognition to NORDIA 2020

Magyar Posta cooperates with Deutsche Post’s Dhl Parcel Europe Network
Magyar Posta and Pošta Slovenije joined DHL Parcel Europe’s network, expanding the DHL network for cross-border e-commerce by two additional countries. Customers already can send MPL Europe Standard parcels to Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland and Slovakia.

Elections for the Board of the Union of Swiss Philatelic Societies
At the Assembly of the FSPhS, as expected the members of the Board has been re-elected with Hans Schwarz as Président. Two new members has been added to the Board, Rolf Leuthard and Forian Domenjoz.

Awards at the DFF, Danmarks Filatelist Forbund
At the Assembly of Representatives Jørgen Jørgensen and Søren Chr. Jensen received the DFF gold pin and thus they became honorary members of DFF. Bo Høifeldt from PostNord was given a silver needle.
FIP and FEPA Approved Seminars at FINLANDIA 2017
FINLANDIA 2017 is enhanced by wide program of Seminars, Meetings and Lectures. Eight International Philatelic Seminars will be arranged during the Exhibition in the premises of the official Exhibition Hotel Scandic Tampere City (Hämeenkatu 1, Tampere). Five of them are FIP Approved Seminars, three of them with a status of Qualifying Seminar. Three Seminars have a FEPA Status. Please note that the timetable is preliminary and the times and rooms can still change.
FEPA Symposium of Youth Philately
The FEPA Symposium of Youth Philately will be held on Saturday 27th of May, in Tampere, during “FINLANDIA 2017”. Eight FEPA Federations amongst the most successful on Youth Philately, will have specialists in the youth field presenting their best practices to all the attendants: Austria by Alfred Kunz; Cyprus by Nicos Rangos; Denmark by Ib Krarup Rasmussen; France by Claude Désarménien; Germany by Axel Brockmann; Slovenia by Bojan Bračič; Spain by José Pedro Gómez-Agüero; and Sweden by Peter Nordin.

The Hellenic Post published the research book Hellenic Stamps 1861-1961, History-Ideology-Aesthetics, hardbound, 406 pages, approx. 300 photos in full colour, 391 bibliographical entries and 464 footnotes. We are looking forward for the edition of the English version!
Elected the new Board of the Union of Bulgarian Philatelists
On December 3rd , 2016, in Sofia was held the Congress of the Union of Bulgarian Philatelists with the election of a new Board. For President was elected Spas Panchev and Vice-presidents George Detchev and Konstantin Penkov.
